Cillian Murphy and Jennifer Connelly have signed on to star in Claudio Llosa’s Cry/Fly, which is also looking to add Melanie Laurent.
The story, which is set in Minnesota and northern Canada over two time periods, follows a mother (played by Connelly) with a six-year-old terminally-ill daughter. A dramatic event separates the mother from her as well as her son, a falcon keeper. 20 years later, a journalist persuades the son to seek out his mother, who’s now become famous.
Variety reports that Mark Johnson, Jose Maria Morales and Ibon Cormenzana produce and shooting starts in February, 2013.
The film marks the English-language debut of Llosa, helmer of Berlin Film Festival’s Golden Bear award and Oscar-nominee The Milk of Sorow. (Source)
